Anthony Francis Berners "Tony" Hall-Matthews was the last Bishop of Carpentaria. He was born into an ecclesiastical family〔His father was the Rev. Cecil Berners Hall, Who's Who 2008: London, A & C Black, 2008 ISBN 978-0-7136-8555-8〕 on 14 November 1940 and educated at St Francis Theological College, Brisbane and James Cook University.
